Marriott Slaterville is a small Weber County city just west of Ogden, formed in 1999 when the communities of Marriott and Slaterville merged. The area was first settled in 1852 by Latter-day Saint pioneer families, including the Slater, Perry, Smout, Marriott, and Field families -- and descendants of J. Willard Marriott, founder of Marriott International, still live in the city that carries his family name today.
